PG Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics organized an educational visit to ICAR CIPHET, Ludhiana on 18th February, 2025. This visit was planned to enhance practical knowledge and skills outside the classroom in particular areas like Post-Harvest Technologies, Agro Processing, Food Storage, Bioprocess Engineering and Pest Management.

UG Department of Science (B.Sc) organized Wildlife Photography Competition Themed ” THE WONDERS OF WILDLIFE “on February 18,2025(Tuesday) to raise an awareness about conservation of wildlife. The students were given a golden opportunity to showcase their Photography skills while exploring the beauty of nature.

Faculty of Science organized an Extension Lecture on Pursuit of Professional Career and Personality Development by Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal, Director GNGC, GNCH and GNIFD. She pointed out that there was no substitute to hard work and that one must work with passion and involvement and be a symbol of efficiency, discipline and integrity. Dr. Mahal guided the students to learn to maintain balance in Personal, Professional and Social life and to inculcate effective communication focussing on logic and broad vision.

Air conditioners have been installed in Faculties of Computer science, Fashion Designing, Biotechnology and BioInformatics 2: Computer Labs of all the Departments have been updated with latest version of Computers as per departmental requirement (A) Computer Science Faculty all 5 labs (B) Fashion Designing and Cosmetology Faculties. Department of Fine Arts of GNGC organized a “Pinecone Painting Activity” wherein the students of the department were taught how to make eco-friendly showpieces and imbibe affinity with nature.

The students of Sociology, Political Science, History and PunjabiDepartment during a one day trip to Chandigarh, attended an awareness session on how to deal with crimes against women and to stand against drug abuse at Zakir Husain Rose Garden, Chandigarh.

GNGC celebrated Valentine’s Day and Reunion Function on 14.02.25 to honour the old students who have brought laurels to their college by acquiring well deserving placements in professional world. Old and current students of the college enjoyed to the brim and participated with enthusiasm and zeal in the fun activities and competitions- Passing the Parcel, Paper Fold Dance, Dumb Charades, Musical Chair and Miss/Mrs. Valentine Contest. Students displayed their creativity and innovative spirit by managing various stalls, performing dances and singing melodious songs.

Faculty of Arts organized an extension Lecture on “Art of Living” wherein the head of the institution, Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal, Director, GNGC, GNCH and GNIFD enlightened the students with astute words of wisdom and motivated them to hone their communication skills, make wise choices in life, stay optimistic, have positive outlook towards life, and never to bow down or feel disheartened in the face of adversity.
