It was a festive atmosphere at Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana as the staff and the students dressed in traditional dresses, celebrated the festival of Teej on 7th<\/sup> August, 2025. Director Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal enlightened the students on socio \u2013 economic importance of Teej and stressed on the need to remain in touch with the culture of Punjab and to preserve it. \u00a0Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Rakhi Malhotra accorded a warm welcome to the Guests and the students. The variety of stalls including Nail \u2013 Art, Bangles, Jewelry, Purses, Cosmetics and Mehndi made the function look more natural. Students enjoyed eating traditional sweets like \u201cKheer\u201d and \u201cMalpoorah\u201d. Various traditional articles like Bagh, Phulkari, Charkha, Pakhis, Chhaj, Daris were also displayed on the stalls. The campus displayed a unique view of its Punjabi culture and rich heritage. Colourfully dressed girls had a gala time on specially installed \u2018Peengh\u2019 singing song on Teej and Sawan. Various competitions including Giddha, Ms. Punjaban, Mehndi, Hair style (Middi Gundana), Charkha Chaki were organized.<\/p>

The results of various competitions as follows:<\/p>

The Giddha performance by was adjudged to be the best Commerce<\/strong> and Management<\/strong> second position was bagged by stream and the third position was secured by Arts.<\/strong><\/p>

In Mehndi competition Pooja (B.Sc.(FD-I) <\/strong>was declared first Muskan (B.Sc.(FD-III) <\/strong>was declared second and Vishali (M.Sc.-(Physics-I) <\/strong>won third prize. In traditional Punjabi Hair styling contest the first prize was won by Khusi Kumari (B.Sc.(FD-I )<\/strong>and Manveer Kaur<\/strong> (B.Sc.(FD-II)<\/strong> second and third prize by Gurnoor Kaur (B.sc.(FD-I) <\/strong>respectively. In Nail Art Competition Anjali Yadav (B.Sc.(FD-I) <\/strong>was declared first Ritika (Beauty & Culture) <\/strong>was declared second and Kamalpreet Kaur (B.Sc.(FD-III)<\/strong>won third prize.<\/p>

Harshpree Kaur <\/strong>was declared Ms. Punjaban and Arshveer Kaur<\/strong> and Japleen Kaur<\/strong> were the first and second runner up respectively.<\/p>

Harsangam Kaur<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 was declared Giddhian Di Rani.<\/p>

Sarpreet Kaur <\/u><\/strong>won the prize for the best traditional Punjabi dress. Director Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal and Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Rakhi Malhotra honoured 14 Members of Students Executive Council and 3 Members of Sports Council.
