The campus of Guru Nanak Girls College dazzled with colours amid Fresher’s Day celebration on 10.9.2026. Senior students of the Department of Commerce, Management and Computer Science organized a cultural show to welcome the newcomers. The function commenced with a short speech by Director Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal in which she formally welcomed the new students on behalf of the staff and all students. She assured that unstinted efforts would be made to develop all-round personality of the students. A beautiful and entertaining cultural extravaganza comprising of elegant dances and melodious songs was organized for students. The hallmark of the day was Miss Fresher Contest in which 60 students took part. The stage came alive as the contestants sashayed down the ramp in scintillating attires. The question-answer round put the brains of the participants to test. The display of costumes, accessories, beauty, intelligence and presence of mind were fabulous. Ms. Ridhima (BBA-I) was declared Miss Fresher, Ms. Zeena (B.Com-I) and Ms. Manpreet Kaur (BBA-I) were the first and second Runners up respectively. Vanshika (B.Com-I) was given the title of Miss Beautiful Smile, Ms. Jessica (B.Com-I) was declared Miss Elegant, Ms. Gurmeet Kaur (M.Com (BE)-I was declared Best Outfit Ms. Gurleen Kaur (B.Com-I) was declared Best Hairstyle. Dr. (Mrs.) Jaskirat Kaur, Dr. (Mrs.) Daisy Aujla and Mrs. Rupinder Kaur Bhullar performed the duty of judges. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Rakhi Malhotra crowned the winners and presented them tokens of appreciation. Trustee of Guru Nanak Education Trust Dr. S.S. Mahal also graced the occasion. S. Gurbir Singh, President Guru Nanak Education Trust congratulated the winners. A view of cheer and joy prevailed everywhere.
