🇮🇳 Celebrating the International Day of Democracy 🇮🇳

Under the visionary leadership and esteemed guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Charanjit Mahal, Director, GNGC, GNCH & GNIFD, and Dr. (Mrs.) Rakhi Malhotra, Principal, Guru Nanak Girls College, the PG Department of Political Science organised a Debate Competition on the occasion of the International Day of Democracy on 15 September 2026.

The programme aimed to sensitise students about the values of democracy, equality, freedom, participation and responsible citizenship, while providing them with a platform to express their views on contemporary democratic issues.

The winners were awarded Certificates of Appreciation by the college authorities in recognition of their outstanding performance, active participation and thoughtful contribution to the debate.

Students participated enthusiastically and demonstrated confidence, awareness and a strong understanding of democratic values. The activity encouraged critical thinking, freedom of expression and active youth participation in the democratic process.

The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of nurturing informed, responsible and active citizens for strengthening democracy.
